J.J. is the registered trademark of Jonette Jewelry Co. located in East Providence, RI. The company was founded in 1935 as Providence Jewelry Company by Abraham Lisker and later changed names to Lisker and Lisker Inc. During WWII the firm discontinued production due to the metal shortages that were brought on by the war and government restrictions. Since the 1970's, Gordon Lisker has been manufacturing jewelry though some of the work is farmed out to other companies. I love J.J. Jewelry... they make the cutest novelty pins I've seen. According to Abraham Lisker, the firm moved in this direction because of the popularity of their earlier ballerina pins and mother of pearl figurals. These were usually priced at about a buck! I believe their jewelry is above average in quality and Christmas pins are another of their specialty items. They are most certainly a FUN WEAR!

VINTAGE JJ JEWELRY (ONLY 1 EACH)
JJ Pewter Schoolhouse Pin and Pierced Post Earrings. A nice old fashioned schoolhouse with the dangling bell at the steeple top. Cut out door and window. Measures 2" high x 1-3/8" wide. Excellent condition. The matching pewter earrings are miniature schoolhouses with an apple, ruler and pencil dangling from the bottom. Pierced Posts. Measure 2" x 5/8" wide. Excellent condition.

JJ I Love Nursing Pin. Pewter. I and Nursing are in script. Love is depicted with a heart. A Nursing Cross, Symbol and Hat dangle from the pin. Measures 2-1/2" x 1-1/2". Excellent condition.

Vintage JJ Enameled Duck Pin. I'm not sure of the exact age of this pin but my best guess is 1960's. It's a heavy goldtone metal with blue enamel tail and neck, brown enameled body and a green enameled head with red eyes. It's very dimensional and detailed. The duck measures 1-3/4" x 1-1/4" and is in very good condition.

JJ 1988 Goldtone Cow Jumping Pin. Is he jumping over the moon? Who knows. He has done a lot of jumping... his body shows it. There are some surface scratches as the picture indicates - I guess it's because he's been around for 17 years. However,he does have some jump left! The goldtone finish is a soft matte. The pin measures 2-3/4" x 1-1/8" high. Good condition.
