Just so you understand the difference,
fur clips have two sharp prongs attached to the spring clip
in the back. (Like two regular pins). This is so they can pierce
the fur without doing too much damage. Dress clips on the other
hand, have one wide piece of metal with "teeth" to grasp thin
material, like a dress.
Dress & Fur Clips in singles and pairs were popular during the 1930's and 1940's.
Vintage Carved Bone Dress Clip in a Floral pattern. This could be Ivory, but I'm more inclined to think Bone. Beautiful carving of daisies and a rose at the top. Measures 2" x 1-1/8". Excellent condition.

1910-1930 Brass Leaves Multi-Colored Stone Dress Clip. This is a breath taking piece...and in today's world can be worn on your V-Neck sweater! This is most likely Czech in origin. There are marquis, round and square shaped stones. There is a gold wash over the brass. Measures 1-7/8" x 1-1/4". Very good condition with normal wear given the age. Truly a keeper!

1920s Galalith Imitation Tortoise Shell Dress Clip. Galalith, a milk protein plastic was produced in a rainbow of brilliant colors and marbling patterns. It was used in France and Germany from the 20's to the 40's. Once synthetic plastics were invented the production of Galalith ceased. This is a dress clip that is not only faux tortoise shell, but it is also a faux pique. Pique was inlaid gold in silver into tortoise shell. However, this is painted on - in a silver color to give you that pique look. The front of this piece shows wear with surface scratches that can be seen up close. Not really noticeable when worn. It measures 1-3/4" x 1-1/4". Very good condition.

Vintage Brass Dress Clip with Raspberry Beads and Pearl Flowers. This is unique! I've never seen one like it. A long open worked rectangular base with attached brass flowers, turquoise colored raspberry finished beads and two pearlized flowers with a rhinestone in the center. This has gold wash over the brass. Measures 2-1/4" long x 3/8" wide. Very good condition. No loss of finish to the raspberry beads, which is so common to these period beads.
