In 1918 the Czechs and Slovaks became united. They were freed from the rule of Austria and Hungary and the land in which they lived is now called Czechoslovkia. Prior to World War I, the jewelry from this area was called Bohemian and often not marked. After WW I, the jewelry was marked with Czecho-slovakia, Czechoslovakia or Made in Czechoslovakia.
