Cecile Schiedlo, of Lake Hopatcong NJ, is an 81 year old woman who makes beautiful handcrafted beaded jewelry from discarded beads, single earrings and anything she sees no longer in use. Most of her items are one of a kind and quite unique in style and of her own design. She also has restrung vintage items in the exact original pattern as she found them. I'm pleased to showcase her exclusive designs and I believe you'll find some wonderful GIFT ideas below. All of her items implement something old and something new...bringing yesterday and today together in harmony.

Cele created this incredible Millefiori, Rhinestone and Faux Pearl Necklace . Four Millefiori beads in crystal, gold and blue. Strung on wire with goldfilled findings and accentuated with black based rhinestone beads in shaded blues. Vintage Faux Blister Pearls and baby blue silverlined seed beads in between. You can't miss with this one! Measures 22".

Cele attributes this design to the 1920's. This is AN AWESOME PIECE! 26" of small grey art glass beads with three larger grey swirled Art Glass Beads that have tiny pink roses nad green leaves. These three are faceted. Tiny vintage seed beads are placed in between each bead and form the tassle. Toggle silver plated clasp. This is strung on wire except for the tassle. Just watch the envious glances!

Cele redesigned these Pink 1950's vintage lucite moonstone beads and added pink silver lined seed beads in between and a sterling silver clasp. This necklace measures a nice 30". If you loved those old necklaces, this one will give you years of secure wear! NOTE: The pink looks washed out in the pic... this is a lovely bright pink in reality!

PINK! These wonderfully bright faux pearls are strung between vintage
1" long faceted crystals with an AB finish and Lamworked beads with
dark pink rosebuds on them. Measures 20" and is finished off with
a goldtone clasp that is a ring and a bar.

So radiant is this strand of various sized showing off multi-faceted crystals in clear and pink highlighted with gold spacers that you'll feel like a star! You are viewing
a replica of an old Wedding Necklace consisting of old faux blister
pearls, faux round pearls in two sizes and crystals. All the findings
except the bead tips are Sterling Silver. Bead tips are nickle placed
and the necklace is strung on Stainless Steel Wire and it took four
hours to complete. Measures about 19". For you, the charm is passed
beautifully on.

Cele's Faux Pearl, Blue Glass and Red Faceted Crystal Necklace. I love this one! The pearls look real... great luster... and each bead is linked in a chain style. The blue glass beads are vintage as are the faux pearls. The hot pink crystals make this sparkle. The necklace measures 28" and the clasp and wire are sterling silver. Very sweet combination!

Cele's Dark Grey Twisted & Frosted Light Grey Vintage Glass Beads with Silver Linded Various Colored Beaded Necklace. Measures 28". Strung on wire with Sterling Silver findings. The bracelet has more of the silver lined colorful beads (source unknown) mixed with only 4 of the vintage grey beads. There is a sterling elephant charm that hangs from the center. The bracelet measures 8". This set is a one of a kind treasure.

Cele took 1920's Amber Glass beads and worked them in between amber seed beads to form a 22" long necklace and 7-1/4" bracelet. The necklace hosts three large amber glass beads two of which are multi-faceted with the center bead being flat cut. Smaller amber faceted glass beads are in between several seed beads. Strung on wire with sterling silver findings. Cele managed to breath new life into these old beads... creating a lovely set that will last long into the future.

Cele combined every vintage purple glass bead she could muster up for this awesome wire wrap bracelet! Yes, there are a few newer ones in between, but for the most part, the majority are vintage. Words can't describe the many beads that adorn this bracelet, and the picture doesn't do them justice at all. Depending on the size of your wrist, this can wrap around at least 3 times... up to 4!

meets French Jet...this is a beautiful set of lovely faceted jet
glass beads, Faceted AB finished Black Crystals and Art Glass beads.
These clear glass beads have swirls of pink in them...very bohemian
and some are shaped like little flying saucers. The unique Sterling
clasp is NEW, but the beads are ALL vintage. The black French Jet
beads larger beads are ODD shaped... and very unique. Matched with
pierced earrings of the same beads, dangling from sterling silver
wires. The choker measures 15" and the earrings hang down about 1-1/2".

Silver beads (not sure if they are sterling but they do shine up very
nicely with a polishing cloth)...strung on CHAIN with a dangle that
is made up of a silver earring part, an enameled bracelet link and
AB finished Black hex beads that were once an earring! 4 separate
pieces of jewelry all combined into one! The necklace measures 17"
and there is a new safety catch. |

young lady on your gift list? Well, if you do...then you just found
her a real treasure! This is a sweat little bracelet comprised of
gold colored beads (non metal) and the center point is a cobalt
blue FISH with gold specs in it. Venetian? I'm not sure. Nevertheless...this
little bracelet measures 6-1/2" for that small wrist. Lobster claw
catch for ease of use. All items on this one are NEW...little girls
don't appreciate the OLD stuff as much! |

| Cleverly put together
with OLD Bone and Ivory chips, which is something I myself have never
seen. I've seen gemstone chips, but not bone or ivory. You can actually
see the grain in some of these chips. Cele said she's held onto these
for many years, wondering how to work them into a piece of jewelry
that would compliement them. Well, I believe the Garnet chips do the
trick as this necklace is striking! Measuring 23" with 14kgf findings,
this piece is quite unique. The garnet chips are newer as are the
findings...the rest is pure vintage! |

| This is one of
my personal favorites...probably because I adore those venetian wedding
cake beads and the OLD lampworked foiled beads. Cele has put together
quite a combination of goodies here, and the overall design is very
attractive. This is the type of necklace that goes with anything you
wear...whether you dress up or dress down...it's a beauty. 24" of
beads...all of which are vintage...only the findings and bell caps
are new. The three 'wedding cake' beads are red, yellow and black.
The foiled beads being the oldest are a nice aqua blue. In between
each bead is a gold filled twisted spacer bead. A bargain at this
price! |

Cele put together this fan necklace from Unikite and Bone with Goldfilled Beads and Clasp. Strung on Nylon. This measures 17" and is worn snug around the neckline. Startling and eye catching!

| This is a nice
old strand of clear beads, each of which is strung on copper wire
and attached to the next bead via the wire. Three soft faceted jet
glass beads in tear shapes center the piece. This is lavalier in 'style'
and the center dangle ends with a handpainted fish most likely porcelain.
Everything on this piece is vintage...down to the earring back that
Cecile use to fasten the fish to the end. This is about 30" from top
to bottom. Findings are copper. I'd gues this piece to date to the
late 20's early 1930's. |
