Anson Incorporated, Providence Rhode Island used this mark for men's jewelry for the first time in July 1945. Olof Anderson, founder, president and treasurer, was born January 31, 1912 in Tansdorp, Sweden, a farming community 400 miles from Stockholm. At 17, Olof came to America and the rest of the family soon followed. In 1934 he became a naturalized citizen. In 1938 he founded the Anderson Tool and Die Company, making tools and dies for the jewelry manufacturing business. During WWII activity in the jewelry making business was curtailed so they converted their jewelry making machinery to milling machines and entered into war production work. With the completion of the war contracts, the present company was formed and entered the men's jewelry mfg. business in 1945, manufacturing and selling a new type of collar holder. Later a complete line of men's jewelry was added and in 1967 they added women's jewelry.
Among the products today are cuff links, tie clips, stickpins (men's and women's), tie tacs, tie chains, collar holders, key devices, money clips, baby jewelry and a variety of other items.
