AB Blue Crystal Wing Back Earrings. (1944-1953) in 1944 Judith McCann applied for and received patent number 2414382 for her unique design in earrings. Her remarkable invention the wing back earring, used a stylized back allowing the earring to rest on the ear cradle, right above the lobe. It fits snuggly around the earlobe without pinch or sag. I've had many of these wingbacks over the years and still can't figure out how to wear them! But then, I have pierced ears and am not much interested. These have a goldtone setting with 4 dark blue AB finished crystals set in a flower like pattern. There is a light green prong set RS in the center. Four of these RS's are also prong set around the blue crystals. Very Good Condition. These measure 1" long x 5/8".
